-: AGEC has as its mission to improve training opportunities and continuing education in geriatrics for clinical health professionals and faculty who teach in health professions programs, and to students in the health professions in Arkansas.
-: Through education and training, AGEC attempts to positively impact the quality of health care available to older Arkansans throughout the State.
-: Since its inception, AGEC has fulfilled its mission through several avenues.
-: Strategies include: expanding educational opportunities for health professionals practicing in rural and medically underserved areas of Arkansas; developing and disseminating new curricula, courses, materials and experiences for students in the health professions; and providing students with clinical training in geriatrics in settings such as nursing homes.
