-: The Beach Center on Disability’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of families and individuals affected by disabilities and of those who are closely involved with them.
-: The Beach Center on Disability consists of six subcenters focusing on: families; public policy; school-wide reform; self-determination, access to the general curriculum and technology use; legal implications of the human genome project; and education of students with significant support needs, including deaf-blindness.
-: The Beach Center on Disability conducts research; provides training and technical assistance; and offers international, national, state, regional, and local service.
-: These activities are carried out in collaboration with families who have members with disabilities; individuals with disabilities; the professionals and policy leaders who serve families and individuals; and members of the communities in which the families and individuals live.
