Main Activity Of Burn Institute
-: Founded in 1972, one of BI’s first accomplishments was to help establish the area’s first and only regional burn center.
-: BI continues: to reach thousands of children and adults each year with lifesaving fire and burn education; to fund vital burn research and treatment; and to conduct burn survivor support programs that help children and adults cope with the devastating and psychological and physical effects of their injuries.
-: Burn prevention education is BI’s highest priority.
-: Community education programs include: a pre-school fire and burn prevention program; a puppet show for kindergarten through third grade; Stop Fires and Burns for grade four through six; Child Care Burn Prevention for parents and childcare providers; the Teenage Burn Injury Program; and Burn Prevention for Seniors.
