-: DAAS was created as Utah’s State Unit on Aging and has legal authority to establish and monitor programs that serve the needs of Utah’s seniors.
-: DAAS serves as an effective and visible advocate for the aging and adult population of Utah; develops and administers a state plan; and takes primary responsibility for state activities relating to the Older Americans Act.
-: DAAS administers the Adult Protective Services program to protect seniors and disabled adults from abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
-: Local Area Agencies on Aging are designated to cover geographic regions of the State of Utah and are charged with the responsibility of providing a comprehensive array of services to, and advocating for, the needs of seniors residing in their areas.
