Main Activity Of Division Of Microbiology And Infectious Diseases

-: DMID conducts research in basic bacteriology and mycology, including molecular structure and function, genetics, biochemical composition, and physiological and biochemical processes.

-: Areas of particular interest include bacterial infections, fungal infections, antibiotic resistance, parasitic infections, viral infections, and vector biology.

-: DMID works with other government agencies to conduct research to detect and prevent infections that emerge as a result of bioterrorist incidents.
