-: The mission of the EHEL is to support fleet operational readiness, protect the warfighter, and to provide the Department of the Navy, the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and other customers with timely solutions to current and anticipated operational problems through an integrated approach to innovative human health effects toxicological research.
-: The EHEL’s goals are to gather, interpret, and report research data that characterizes the toxicity of materials that are of interest to the Navy; to ensure this data is developed in compliance with good laboratory practices so as to formulate occupational health hazard evaluations and risk assessments; and to maintain scientific expertise in providing information used for determining appropriate personnel exposure limits within circumstances specific to the Navy and Marine Corps.
