Main Activity Of Georgia Department Of Natural Resources
-: The State of Georgia defines natural resources to include the state’s air, soil, and water; all game species of animals, birds, and fish; all non-game species of animals, birds and fish; all plants, whether common, endangered or protected; and every cultural, historic or recreational resource within the state.
-: Most of the work of the DNR is conducted through its six operating divisions: Coastal Resources Division; Environmental Protection Division; Historic Preservation Division; Sustainability Division; Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Division; and Wildlife Resources Division.
-: The Coastal Resources Division has primary responsibility for managing Georgia’s marshes, beaches, and marine fishery resources.
-: The Environmental Protection Division protects air, land, and water through the authority of state and federal statutes concerned with water quality, air quality, hazardous waste, water supply, solid waste management, and surface mining.
