Main Activity Of Mental Hygiene Administration
-: The mission of the MHA is to create and manage a coordinated, comprehensive, accessible, culturally sensitive, and age appropriate system of publicly funded services and supports for individuals who have psychiatric disorders and, in conjunction with stakeholders, provide treatment and rehabilitation in order to promote resiliency, health, and recovery.
-: MHA operates five inpatient psychiatric facilities and two residential treatment centers for children and adolescents, and funds community mental health services for Medicaid eligible individuals.
-: MHA funds services to individuals who, because of the severity of their illness and their financial need, are qualified to receive state subsidized services.
-: MHA services include: psychiatric inpatient care; psychiatric day treatment (partial hospitalization); residential treatment; respite; outpatient mental health clinics; individual mental health practitioner services; psychiatric rehabilitation; residential rehabilitation; forensic services; supported living services; supported employment and vocational services; case management services; and traumatic brain injury services.
