Main Activity Of Plains Conservation Center
-: The PCC consists of several sites devoted to various settings.
-: The 1,100 Aurora site offers visitors the possibility of observing pronghorn, prairie dogs, coyotes, burrowing owls, meadowlarks, red-tailed hawks, a buffalo grass jungle, wildlife tracks, and tipis left over from the semi-nomadic lifestyle of the Cheyenne people of the 1830s.
-: Well’s Crossing, an 1887 rural outpost, offers all the settled comforts of a pioneer lifestyle: two homesteads, a school house, a blacksmith shop, an heirloom garden, and a chicken coop.
-: On the 5,700-acre West Bijou site, visitors can enjoy – in the company of a naturalist – the feeling of unbroken, wide-open prairie with wildlife, botanical, archaeological, and paleontological treasures.
