-: To this end the Biosystematics Group has several facilities available, including an herbarium collection, a library and a DNA laboratory.
-: Research within the Plant Systematics section focuses on systematics of cultivated plants; general systematics, evolution and biogeography of African plants; and the plant speciation process.
-: The Animal Taxonomic section focuses on speciation process in cycads; insect faunas on carcasses of large vertebrates; coleoptera faunistics in The Netherlands; and weevil systematics.
