-: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Wyoming State Government authorizes the activities of ETS.
-: ETS goals mandated by the CIO include: to develop a biennial information technology (IT) plan; to implement and maintain an IT governance program; to establish review criteria for technology projects and major purchases; to develop and implement recommendations for proper management of IT resources; to review and make recommendations to the Governor concerning IT budget requests; to adopt technical IT policies and standards and ensure agency compliance with the policies and standards; to recommend IT procurement improvements; and to develop and promote IT training programs.
-: The CIO encourages IT coordination, information sharing, and collaboration, including enhancing geographic information systems coordination.
