-: The mission of the FLICC is to foster excellence in federal library and information services through interagency cooperation and to provide guidance and direction for the Federal Library and Information Network.
-: FLICC seeks to contribute to the public good through information management and public access.
-: FLICC’s information management duties include identifying, selecting, acquiring, analyzing, organizing, preserving and delivering authoritative information content, regardless of physical format; providing efficient, timely access to information wherever it resides; optimizing effective use of information resources through expert assistance to end-users; sharing information resources electronically through national and international networks; and managing the transition to new formats and media.
-: In the area of public access, FLICC seeks to provide leadership in development of policies and procedures that advance dissemination of government information; to serve United States citizens; to assist other government agencies with their information needs; and to comprise the federal node in the national digital library.
