Main Activity Of Food Research and Action Center

-: FRAC pursues a comprehensive national, state and local strategy by conducting research to document the extent of hunger, its impact, and effective solutions; by seeking improved federal, state and local public policies that will reduce hunger and under-nutrition; by monitoring the implementation of laws and serving as a watchdog of programs; by providing coordination, training, technical assistance and support on nutrition and anti-poverty issues to a nationwide network of advocates, service providers, food banks, program administrators and participants, and policymakers; and by conducting public information campaigns to help promote change in attitudes and policies.

-: FRAC works closely with groups across the country to expand programs which help children grow and learn, particularly the School Breakfast Program; the Summer Food Service Program for Children; the Women, Infants, and Children Program; and programs that provide meals and snacks to children in daycare and before and after school programs.

-: FRAC develops media and public information campaigns to help promote changes in public attitudes and policies.

-: FRAC publishes a newsletter and sponsors conferences and training seminars.
