Main Activity Of Kentucky Commission On Human Rights
-: The Kentucky Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age 40 or over, or disability in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
-: KCHR is governed by an 11-member panel of Commissioners appointed by the Governor from Kentucky’s seven judicial districts and the state-at-large.
-: The executive director and staff carry out the daily work of the Commissioners, who in turn review, guide, and approve activities.
-: KCHR investigates allegations of discrimination; provides legal services on behalf of KCHR to complainants who allege violations of the Kentucky Civil Rights Act; educates people about their rights under the law; and informs businesses, landlords, and other organizations about how to conduct their operations in accordance with the law.
