-: Members of MMS: collaborate with professional mycologists to improve their skills of mushroom identification; work on building the mushroom collection of the mycological herbarium at the University of Minnesota; and assist the Hennepin County Poison Center in mushroom identification.
-: MMS’ monthly meetings during the entire year and bi-monthly forays during the mushroom fruiting season are dedicated to learning and improving mushroom identification skills.
-: Interests of MMS include: collecting and identifying wild mushrooms and other fungi; cooking with wild mushrooms; photographing mushrooms; and arts and crafts with fungi.
