-: The MMR performs three vital functions: characterization of new spontaneous mutations in mice that occur within the large breeding colonies of The Jackson Laboratory; maintenance and distribution of established mutant stocks; and preservation of spontaneous mutation stocks.
-: Over 700 established mutant stocks are maintained in the MMR and 90-100 new mutations are at various stages of characterization.
-: New mutant mice are made available to the scientific community once they have been characterized and described in journal publications or on the MMR Website.
