-: Through research and education, NSMS seeks to expand and promote the role of safety management in terms of cost/benefit returns and humanitarian considerations.
-: NSMS is a membership society which is open to anyone with managerial responsibilities relating to safety.
-: NSMS believes: without the active involvement of the whole management system in preventing operational errors or mishaps, the safety movement is static, and change is needed; and understanding does not begin on the production floor or in the front office, but begins by integrating it with formal education, especially that of its future managers.
-: NSMS publishes a monthly newsletter and a professional journal to encourage communication of ideas in order to improve accident prevention through concepts and principles of management.
