Main Activity Of Office Of Information Resources
-: OIR is guided by the Chief Information Officer and its clients primarily consist of state agencies, departments and commissions.
-: OIR provides direction, planning, resources, execution and coordination in managing the information systems needs of the State of Tennessee; and provides the infrastructure upon which state agencies build applications, along with a variety of shared services, enterprise security and policies.
-: The OIR is divided into two distinct components: Applications and Solutions Delivery, and Enterprise Policy and Planning.
-: OIR is tasked with: operating and housing the state data center; data networking and telecommunications for state agencies, grades K-12 and the University system; providing services for local and wide area networks; providing business services that are used by state agencies including statewide email system, video services, and teleconferencing services; security policy and audit programs; participating in an information technology planning process; and overseeing the review and updating of agency disaster recovery and continuation of operations plans.
