-: AHEC prepares healthcare students for careers by offering them experience in rural and inner city communities; offers rural and urban healthcare professionals continuing education opportunities; address medically underserved communities’ needs through access to health promotion and disease prevention education programs; and recruits high school and college students, especially minority and disadvantaged, to explore healthcare careers.
-: By linking academic resources with local planning, educational and clinical resources, the AHEC program establishes a network of community-based training sites to provide educational services to students, practitioners in underserved areas.
