-: DADS ensures that older Texans and persons with disabilities will be supported by a comprehensive and cost-effective service delivery system that promotes and enhances individual well-being, dignity, and choice.
-: DADS’ responsibilities to the citizens of Texas include: working in partnership with consumers, caregivers, service providers, and other stakeholders; developing and improving service options that are responsive to individual needs and preferences; and ensuring and protecting self-determination, consumer rights, and safety.
-: Goals of DADS include: long-term services and support to enable older Texans to live their lives as independently and safely as possible; regulation, certification and outreach for all aspects of residential homes, facilities and community support services; and indirect administration to assure efficiency, quality and effective services are provided.
