Main Activity Of Water Center
-: The mission of the Water Center is to implement and facilitate water and water-related research; teaching; and conducting public outreach programming within the University of Nebraska system.
-: Focus areas of the Water Center Include: effects of pesticides on stream, lake and wetland ecosystems; agricultural best management practices; lake restoration through nontoxic chemicals; groundwater denitrification; improving irrigation technology; drought mitigation; declining aquifers; and measuring groundwater quality impacts from confined animal feeding operations.
-: In addition, the Water Center addresses environmental needs associated with the agricultural and natural resources areas of IANR; holds annual tours, seminars and conferences; and has information available for students and the public.
-: Associated with the Water Center is a world-class Water Sciences Laboratory, where research faculty and staff are integrally involved in much of the water and water-related research projects sponsored or facilitated by the Water Center.
