Main Activity Of Radiation Safety Section
-: To help ensure Michigan’s ionizing radiation rules are followed, RSS: conducts annual registration of x-ray facilities an x-ray machines; inspects new mammography machines; conducts periodic inspections of medical and nonmedical radiation machines; and investigates radiation incidents involving excess radiation doses of workers.
-: RSS has the Radiological Safety Data System containing registration, and inspection or compliance information for ionizing radiation machines and facilities in Michigan.
-: Staff answers inquiries; conducts inspections; and provides reports and statistical information.
